Workshop GeoArmadillo

Description | ||
Registration here: https://www.conftool.pro/geosaxonia2024/ Advanced data analysis is crucial in geochemistry. There are a variety of robust statistical and data science techniques available to extract the most value from your analytical data. However, accessing these methods often requires computer programming skills. In this workshop, we will introduce our new GeoArmadillo software. GeoArmadillo is a software tool for highly individualised data processing and visualization of geochemical data. It offers a block-based user interface in which users can build their personal data processing pipelines. Individual blocks perform specific tasks, and multiple blocks can be combined to perform more complex data processing. The data processing itself is run by Python. However, the graphical interface of GeoArmadillo makes the application easy for everyone, even those without programming knowledge. In the workshop, we will guide you through the hands-on process of installing, running and using GeoArmadillo. Therefore, you should bring your own laptop (Linux, Windows, MacOS). You will build your first data processing pipeline using our training data set. But you can, of course, also bring your own data. Many blocks implemented in GeoArmadillo are currently focused on Rare Earth Element data processing. However, we will also show you how new blocks are implemented and modified. In the final part of this workshop, we will collect your user experience, ideas, recommendations, and wishes. This information is crucial for us and the further development of GeoArmadillo. You can already prepare yourself in advance. Think about the data processing you apply in your research. Let us know, either in advance or during the Feedback session, so we can work out with you how to implement these steps in GeoArmadillo. More information: Workshop-Flyer |
